I am a graduate of Everett High School, the University of Washington, and Pace University in New York. I have also lived in Pound Ridge, New York, and Flagstaff, Arizona. I've been a Lake Stevens resident for over 30 years, have a daughter that graduated from LSHS, and really appreciate our community. Some of my other interests are travel and brain-based learning (how people remember what they learn). I'm passionate about education opportunities and helping our students grow and become constructive community members. Here at LSHS, I work with the English Department, the attendance office, and assessments.

My wife, four kids, and I hail from the other side of the state, but have called Lake Stevens home for the last eighteen years. I'm a graduate of Gonzaga University and City University of Seattle. I'm passionate about research-based assessment and grading practices, equity, and video games. Currently, I maintain oversight of the following program areas: AP, College in the High School, Social Studies, and Special Education.

I have worked in LSSD since 1997 and taught English and History.  I am an LSHS Graduate, 1990, and lettered in football, basketball, and band.  My parents (both retired teachers in LSSD) still live in the community and I have always appreciated and understood what it means to be from Lake Stevens and what a positive community this is.  I am looking forward to the 2022-2023 School year

I'm happy to join the LSHS family after spending the last seven years in alternative schools in another district.  I've studied at Pacific Lutheran University, The Evergreen State College, and Eastern Washington University.  I love working with students who have experienced struggles in the past and working toward finding solutions to help them succeed in the future.
