Academic Assistance

Family Access
Family Access is a program which allows parents and students to view the most currently posted grades and attendance. A password is required; passwords for parents and guardians differ from those given to students as parents have the capability to excuse absences online. Click here to log in to family access. If you have not logged in before, log in with the email address on file with LSHS and the system will send you an email with further login and password information. If you don’t remember which email address you have on file, if your email has changed, or if you don’t have an email address; please call the main office and ask for Ginger Reid at extension 2300. Mrs. Reid will help you update your login information and answer any other questions you might have. Please keep in mind that the grades posted reflect what has or has not been turned in, not what has been currently assigned. It is recommended that parents and guardians contact teachers directly if there are concerns about a student's progress in the class.

Academic Lab in the Learning Commons
Students can get help with Math, Science, English, History, or other subjects during all three lunches and directly after school until 3:30 every day. There is even transportation home after school on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Study Skills
Good study skills improve school performance. The better a student's school performance, the more opportunities there are from which to select after graduation. Talk with your child about the job of being a student: attitudes toward homework, class participation, note-talking skills, and test-taking strategies.
