Financial Aid

Hello from the Career Center,

It’s FAFSA/WASFA time! These forms (online forms) opened on December 31st and many colleges and universities have financial aid priority deadlines. Now is the time to complete your FAFSA/WASFA if you haven’t yet!

Below you will find a link to a video and other links about the financial aid process. I am happy to review the FAFSA/WASFA process, financial aid terms, scholarships and the financial aid offer with students and their families.

I will host a financial aid night with a direct presentation to both parents/guardian and students during the LSHS Beyond High School night in October. You will also find a link for the slides in PDF format, where you will be able to access all the website links I reference in the presentation.

WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) State Financial Aid for Undocumented Individuals and Other Select Applicants. Washington State offers financial aid programs to students who cannot file, or do not wish to file, a federal FAFSA financial aid application for various reasons.

Should you complete a FAFSA or a WASFA? If you are unsure if you should complete a FAFSA or a WASFA, complete the WASFA Eligibility Questionnaire.    https://wsac.wa.gov/WASFAelig

FAFSA Biggest Misconception -- "I am not going to fill out the FAFSA, because I won’t be eligible for financial aid"... this may be true regarding receiving aid from the Federal Government, but the FAFSA is used by colleges to determine Merit/need-based/other scholarships. It's time to fill out your FAFSA/WASFA!
